Behind the White Glasses

Synopsis
Dietro gli occhiali bianchi recounts a journey into the life and career of Lina Wertmüller, the world's first woman in film history to have received an Oscar nomination for best director with her masterpiece Pasqualino Settebellezze (1975). From the previously unseen images shot in Cinecittà when he was Federico Fellini's assistant director in 8 1/2, the documentary retraces the locations of her most famous films, exploring the artistic and human universe of a woman who, always faithful to her ironic and grotesque vein, has left her mark in every branch of show business where she worked, from cinema to theatre, from television to music.
