Synopsis
Carlo Orsi, who began as an assistant to Ugo Mulas, has since the early 1960s made reportages from Italy and abroad for magazines such as Panorama, Settimo Giorno, Il Mondo and Oggi, then worked for advertising and fashion, collaborating with the most qualified Italian and foreign newspapers. He also frequented the world of art, experimentation, and research. Particularly important is his documentation of the work of Arnaldo Pomodoro, whose image he has edited since 1984. In 1965 he published the book on Milan with Dino Buzzati, republished later with texts by Aldo Nove. From 1997 to 2021 he was among the founders of the magazine Città/Milano, whose goal was to "build with monographic chapters a true identity narrative of Milan."
Guido Vergani calls Carlo Orsi "one of the rare photographers who know how to be simultaneously great, honest reporters and great creators, inventors of images."
