Franco Albini. Uno sguardo leggero

Valeria Parisi

Italy, 2017, 26'

Synopsis

Weightless: a bookcase in which books seem to float, a radio reduced to its essentials that reveals to the eye the valves between two crystal panels, an armchair made up of only three pieces. Arrangements and installations where objects float and lose shape.
Even the architectures are never monumental and rhetorical, but leave their mark: such as the Rinascente in Rome and Line 1 of the Milan Metro.

The thought, the gesture, the gaze.
It is precisely through his very personal gaze that we recount Franco Albini.
A curious, inquiring, slow, precise and repetitive eye. Continuous, obsessive, intense.
He was the master of lightness; he dreamed of a world without gravity. He was serious, shy and taciturn.
He loved to travel and wanted to be free of all possessions.
