Gabriele Basilico

Marina Spada

Italy, 2006, 24'

Synopsis

"I am not interested in the city as a sequence of beautiful architecture. Instead, I am interested in the city as a phenomenon. Ever since my work on factories I have always been attracted to the fabric of the city that architectural culture considers mediocre, absolutely uninteresting, that no one wants to see and that is instead the strong structure of the city."

Graduated in architecture, Basilico has been one of the most important and acclaimed masters of contemporary European architecture and urban landscape photography. His photography has chronicled, with refined rigor, urbanized landscapes around the world, capturing the heart of cities and their transformations.
