Synopsis
“I am a journalist first and then a photographer. The photographs must tell what is happening”.
In more than forty years of activity, Mauro Galligani has produced hundreds of reports from all over the world, following the major events of international news, the wars in Central America, Africa and the Middle East, dealing with political issues but also social and customs issues, such as life in the Soviet Union, a country whose every change he has followed for thirty years.
He worked mainly as a correspondent for the weekly Epoca, a mainly photographic newspaper, the Italian Life. After its closure in 1997, he continued to carry out his activity as a freelancer, collaborating with some of the most important newspapers in the world, including Life Magazine.
