Marisa Merz is the queen of Arte Povera, the only woman in the Italian post-war movement famous for sculptures and installations made with humble, often waste materials. After a career of 50 years, today her works appear in the collections of the greatest museums in the world. Between 2017 and 2018 she made a travelling exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
In 2013, the Venice Biennale awarded her the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.
